HOFIT
polyethylene (PE) manholes for sewage systems are a unique invention, it
comes to replace the old traditional concrete manholes for the reasons
shown in the table below:

Excellent.
Highly resistant to all domestic waste, strong acids and a lot of other industrial wastes. |
Quite poor. Even in
domestic waste there are chemicals which attack the concrete, to say the least of industrial waste. |

water can not go through PE and all the joints are sealed with rubber gaskets. | Water penetrates through
concrete which endangers the environment and "invites" tree roots causing blocks in the system. |
| Weight | Light manholes, can be handles easily
by one or two workers and transportation is not expensive. |
Very heavy, needs crane
for loading and unloading in transportation and during installation. |
| Durability | Excellent. Can be
dropped, for example, from a truck top when unloading and stay intact. |
Easily break and has to
be handled with care. |
| Installation | Fast and easy installation,
pit can be opened and closed on the same day, no need for concrete to dry. |
Slow process, needs heavy machinery, takes time for concrete to dry. |
